Aamis

Aamis is an Assamese movie directed by Bhaskar Hazarika. Movie is about how far someone can go to fulfill his desire, what on earth someone can do for his love. Director has presented the story brilliantly and with atmost simplicity. Cinematography by Riju Das was also very simple, which is very true to the directors way of storytelling. They are able to present each and every scene in its pure natural way.

This love story is based around Nirmali (Lima Das) who was a doctor by profession and is elder than Sumon (Arghadeep Baruah) who was a PhD research student, who was doing his research in 'Meat Eating Habits of North-East India'. Nirmali was married to a doctor who was busy with his work and work related travel. He was not having any quality time to spend with his family. They were also having a child. Affection was formed in between Sumon and Nirmali after both shared a common interest in meat eating. Nirmali started finding pleasure in eating the meat which Sumon prepared specially for her, which she tells is the meat with taste which she never tasted before in her life. Story ends with complications caused after Sumon decided to feed his love with the meat that she wants with the quantity that satisfies her desire.

The casting of the movie was brilliant. Lima Das who played the role of Nirmali showed some good
acting skills even though this movie was her acting debut. Sumon's character which was played by Arghadeep had the innocence which made both of their altogether performance a treat to watch.

Movie is masterpiece made in India. Viewer's will feel the charm of the beautiful love story in the beginning and would be left horrified in the end by this beautiful piece of storytelling. Movie is actually a fictional love story which turned out to a psycho type in the end. Viewers will be left with some questions in the end like - whether someone can do something like this for his love? If someone can ask something like this to fulfill his desire?
